If I Were God Of America No. 2.

I would solve many of the problems of the federal government by splitting them up and shifting them to be taken care of by the various states. These problems would be more easily handled on a smaller state sized scale. I would do the same thing with all social programs and infrastructure maintenance as well.
It is quite likely that my plan will result in multiple styles of government forming among the several states, but it will allow for people to choose to live under the government of their choice.
I would solve the nation's debt problem by phasing out and cutting programs at a slightly quicker rate than the rate at which I cut taxes. The final result would be a minimal tax rate, not income tax, but a small per person flat tax. Since politicians would be unpaid and social programs, infrastructure maintenance and almost all current government agencies would be shifted to state control there would be no need for the federal government to levy many taxes. It would be up to the various states to levy appropriate taxes of whatever amount and type that their citizenry will agree to.

Duh!

Am I just naive or does it make sense to everyone else for politicians to be fighting over raising the debt ceiling instead of getting us OUT of debt?
I say, take the money away from the politicians and they will go away! (Sorry, this is running over into the If I Were God Of America territory.) I will continue it later.
